Glasblokkene is a hospital for children, young people and women in Bergen. The hospital is designed and built in two stages with four building blocks in each. This is a unique project both architecturally and in terms of the design and construction process itself. Glasblokkene II is the first fully digital hospital construction project in the world.
Despite really high quality in architecture, materials and workmanship, the building was completed at a price per square metre that is significantly lower than other Norwegian hospital buildings, and on schedule.
KHR has supported Novo Nordisk Fonden and Region Zealand as architectural consultant in connection with the establishment of Steno Diabetes Center Zealand, especially at hospitals in Køge, Nykøbing F., Holbæk, Roskilde and Slagelse as well as in psychiatry.
The aim has been to ensure high architectural quality and a common thread across the centres.
The new sterile centre is optimally connected to the Regional Hospital in Randers via a level-free connection through an existing transport corridor. KHR has designed the building so that the architecture meets the high requirements for sterile areas, technical equipment and smooth logistics.
The new Porsgrunn Swimming and Sports Arena has been developed as part of Porsgrunn Municipality's
efforts to improve and increase access to swimming and sports facilities for both school classes
school classes, sports clubs and citizens in the municipality.
KHR, together with local architects Børve and Bochsenius, helped Porsgrunn Municipality with an upgrade of the existing Frisklivssenter in Kjølnes.
The expansion of SDU with the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is based on a continuation of SDU's clear building structure and architectural idiom, which KHR Architecture created back in the 1970s.
The new faculty building connects New OUH with the existing SDU. The merger of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the university hospital will promote collaboration between practice and research and thus provide optimal conditions for education, research and innovation in the healthcare sector. New HEALTH and New OUH is a research and hospital project totalling 275,000 m2 and a construction sum of DKK 6.3 billion.
KHR won 1st prize in an international architectural competition with its proposal for the Biocenter. The Biocenter inspires dynamic collaboration and creates the best environment for a multidisciplinary research environment.
KHR Architecture, as the general contractor's architectural advisor, has carried out an adjustment round and design of the layout proposal for the Regional Hospital, which has been prepared by the client's advisor. The project comprises the design and construction of the first phase of the new joint emergency department at Randers Regional Hospital and the planning of the subsequent phases.
