KHR Architecture's client consultancy has acted as buyer advisor to the pension fund PenSam in connection with the acquisition of 78 condominiums and 15 parking spaces in the fine functionalist residential block Dronningegården in central Copenhagen. KHR Architecture has performed a due diligence building review of the total 6,462 square metres of rental space, including a drone inspection of the roofs of the listed buildings from 1943 and 1956. The buyer counselling also included guidance on operation and maintenance budgets.
KHR Architecture has helped Udviklingsselskabet By & Havn with a better user experience in the underground car park on Kronløbsøen. The underground car park can accommodate over 1,000 vehicles on four underwater parking decks, and users found it too difficult to navigate the large facility with the existing signage. KHR's wayfinding specialists analysed the problems and developed a new wayfinding strategy and a distinctive signage design to stop people getting lost on Kronløbsøen.
The second stage of Bergen's new hospital for children, young people and women in labour was inaugurated yesterday - a project that was completed on time, on budget and with an excellent result for the 50,000 square metres. Glasblokkene II is the second stage of a total of 79,000 square metres of children's and youth hospital, where great emphasis has been placed on creating a modern healthcare environment that feels homely and allows young patients to feel like children first and foremost.
Nuuk has a new restaurant building with a roof terrace and retail space. Restaurant Nivi is located in the centre of Nuuk and the guests are thrilled. KHR has been responsible for the design, planning and interior design of the 1000 m2 building in close collaboration with the client and contractor. KHR Architecture hires four architects with experience from German projects in order to fulfil its tasks in Germany at a high level. In the past year, KHR Architecture has won four projects in Northern Germany, which the new colleagues will work on. The first three new colleagues have just started and the last one will follow in January.
Glasblokkene is a hospital for children, young people and women in Bergen. The hospital is designed and built in two stages with four building blocks in each. This is a unique project both architecturally and in terms of the design and construction process itself. Glasblokkene II is the first fully digital hospital construction project in the world.
Despite really high quality in architecture, materials and workmanship, the building was completed at a price per square metre that is significantly lower than other Norwegian hospital buildings, and on schedule.
