At architecture school, it wasn't the shape of the building that interested Elisabeth Jeppesen. It was all the stuff around the architecture. Experience from the early project stages is Elisabeth's strongest card in her job as head of KHR Byplan, which offers urban planning consultancy, project development and management of processes with authorities. In this interview, she shares her insights and motivation for project development at eye level in a world full of demands and opportunities.
On Wednesday morning, KHR Architecture held an interesting morning meeting where urban planning expert Elisabeth Jeppesen and surveyor Kristian Bastrup gave the participants an insight into legislation, urban planning and its processes in connection with property development. The meeting was based on a number of concrete cases and typical pitfalls.
How do you reconcile legal requirements, contextual considerations and commercial desires when developing a new project? Land surveyor Kristian Bastrup and urban planning expert Elisabeth Jeppesen will shed light on the legal framework, go through the typical processes, talk about common pitfalls and present real-world cases. Naturally, there will also be time for questions and dialogue.
Gartnerhaven is a new green residential area where KHR Architecture will design 18,000 square metres of housing. Elisabeth Jeppesen from KHR Byplan, as a consultant for Sweco, has been involved right from the development of a new master plan for the area and has steered the developer group behind the project safely throughout the process, ensuring a good dialogue with and the right deliverables to Hvidovre Municipality's administration.
Preparations are now being made to realise the local plan, where KHR Architecture is the architectural consultant for property developer Core Bolig X, which is developing one of the four building sites in Gartnerhaven.
Spread across three different building typologies, a total of 192 new apartments and 32 townhouses will be created.
