Space planning takes on a special significance when a new organisation is created. In connection with the merger of three organisations into one, KHR Architecture helped EIFO with the design of a new headquarters of 10,600 sqm spread over four floors in Orienthuset in Nordhavnen, where 450 employees are now based. The task was solved using an evidence-based approach with questionnaires and user surveys as the basis for the chosen concept and the specific interior design. The space planning work, including the organisation of EU tenders, was carried out as part of a broader tenant consultancy by EIFO.
KHR Architecture has been the architectural consultant for the transformation of a listed neoclassical courthouse into a modern office community. Nomad Workspace is an office environment of approximately 2,500 square metres divided into private and open office areas, work lounges, café, common areas, meeting facilities and event spaces. We transformed the interior of the building from cellular offices to an open office landscape - bringing the building back to its original spaciousness and character, in a reinterpreted version.
Commercial building for a restaurant and shop in the centre of Nuuk. Designed by KHR, the building houses both a beautiful restaurant with a fabulous roof terrace and a retail space for rent.
KHR has been the architectural consultant for the entire project, which in addition to the architecture also includes the design of customised furniture and interior design of the restaurant.
The architecture of Nuuk's new school will not only create an optimal learning environment, but also make the school a gathering place in the city. Atuarfik Inussuk will be a landmark that tells a story about the child at the centre of school construction, about building a 'village' with space for people, both inside the buildings and in the space between the houses.
The school's main approach is based on Greenland's history of nature as a basic condition for life, while pointing to a way of building that gives first priority to indoor climate, daylight and beautiful spaces where people can live and thrive.
In Østerport 2's innovative office concept in the centre of Copenhagen, our architects have used a simple architectural approach to make the otherwise boring office corridor part of the facade, like a kind of gallery or balcony. balcony, and pulled all workstations back from the facade where there is peace and quiet. A socially sustainable design where everyone benefits from views, daylight and the impulse of the surroundings. This also means that the inner working life can be seen and experienced from the outside and thus become part of city life.
