The Board of Helse Vest RHF (Norway) has approved on 21 September the pre-project for the 2nd phase of the new Children and Youth Hospital in Bergen (BUS). This means that an investment envelope of 3.35 billion NOK has been allocated. for the detailed design and construction of the somatic section, which will also include Haukeland University Hospital's maternity unit.

The overall aim of the BUS is to bring together the child and adolescent specialties in independent, but coherent, building sections that are dimensioned for future needs and that will ensure a high quality of services for children, adolescents, mothers and relatives.

In collaboration with Rambøll Trondheim and PKA architects in Trondheim, KHR architects won the 2006 architectural competition for the overall Children's and Youth Hospital. Stage 1 (psychiatry and energy centre) is under construction and we are now delighted to be able to help realise this unique ambition for a second stage in an ambitious children and hospital project at eye level with users.
