On 23 May, a beautiful and functional new hospital, bringing together somatic and child and adolescent psychiatry, opened its doors to patients, relatives and staff. The Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solbjerg´s gave a speech in which she congratulated Bergen for the new building: "23 May 2017 is a great day for Bergen, the West and Norway. Congratulations on a new milestone for the health of the youngest among us. Congratulations on the first building step of the new children's and youth hospital. "In addition, our building has been praised by the developer and by the users, as a well-functioning and future-proof hospital. Our project manager colleague from PKA, Nina Kielland, also gave a speech and handed over the key to the building. After six years of intense construction activity, the first phase of the children's and youth hospital in Bergen is now complete. It has been a good process where both schedule and budget have been respected and we are not least proud of the result - a functional and safe hospital where the architecture forms the framework for a healing environment.
