"The inspiration for the Cityringen stations comes from the original metro line, where the station at Kongens Nytorv is the model for all future Cityringen stations.
It builds on the original KHR design, including the staircase, the choice of materials, the fact that the light is directed down to the deep platforms and that the platforms are easily recognisable at all stations (wayfinding).
The city ring stands on the shoulders of the architectural expression of the existing metro ring, which KHR designed in the years 1994 - 2008. It is this design concept that the Cityringen builds on."
