KHR Architecture is looking forward to the new solar plant that will produce power for the Children's and Youth Hospital in Bergen. Estimated to produce 36,000 kilowatt hours per year, the solar plant is the first of its kind in Norway. The solar cells will be used for the south-facing windows on the walkways and in the technical rooms, and will act as both solar shading and power generation. Depending on the spatiality and function, the transparency of the thin solar cell film (cadmium-tell-time, CdTe) will vary to suit the use of the space. The solar cell project is supported by Enova with 39 percent of the project costs.
