Hvidovre Hospital, designed by KHR and inaugurated in 1976, is a striking example of welfare state hospital architecture. Even back then, the project worked with several of the principles we associate with healing architecture today - including access to green courtyards, clear wayfinding and a human scale. To mark the hospital's 50th anniversary, Hvidovre Hospital interviewed KHR architect Mikkel Beedholm about the building's architecture, the ideals behind it and what still makes the hospital relevant today.
