Architecture that puts users at the centre<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The upgrade to the physical facilities forms part of the Steno Diabetes Centre Zealand\u2019s efforts to improve diabetes treatment and prevention in the region. Diabetes care will continue to be provided close to patients at hospitals across the region, but within new, improved facilities designed to meet users\u2019 needs. KHR Architecture has acted as architectural consultant on the project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 We have helped to ensure a high standard of architecture throughout the process, both within individual projects and across projects, and it\u2019s wonderful to see how well the visions have been brought to life at the outpatient clinics in N\u00e6stved and Slagelse,\u2019 says project manager Kirsten Vittrup Bernild from KHR Architecture.

The local architectural firm HS BrunsgaardLaursen acted as the project architects for the two outpatient clinics.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The project to refurbish and build new facilities for diabetes treatment is underway in several etaper<\/a>, but based on the same architectural visions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 I am very excited about the new outpatient clinics at Slagelse and N\u00e6stved Hospitals. They fit perfectly with the vision for the diabetes outpatient clinic of the future, where patients are at the centre \u2013 including in the physical environment,\u2019 says the centre director at the Steno Diabetes Centre Zealand. Lise Tarnow.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In N\u00e6stved, the refurbishment has placed particular emphasis on making it easier for users to find their way around intuitively, whilst the outpatient clinic in Slagelse has been fitted out with a special transition room designed to ensure a smooth transition from paediatric to adult care for young diabetes patients.
