A holistic approach focusing on users and the urban context<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-It is a pleasure to work with a visionary developer such as NREP, which does not merely focus on specific functions and short-term financial considerations, but recognises the value of a holistic approach, which includes investing in a playground and outdoor spaces and incorporating functions beyond those of a traditional shopping centre. The users and the urban context are crucial to Kronen\u2019s success, and they are therefore the natural focal point of the redevelopment, says Janina Zerbe, who, as creative partner, is responsible for the project at KHR Architecture.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The aim is to create a town centre for the residents of Vanl\u00f8se<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NREP\u2019s aim is to develop Kronen into a natural meeting place in Vanl\u00f8se, rather than competing with large shopping centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Our aim is to create a town centre that the residents of Vanl\u00f8se will want to get involved in. This means we need to create attractive and exciting amenities, so that residents have plenty of reasons to visit and spend time at Kronen, says Rasmus Meyhoff, Director of Development at NREP, in a press release.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s all about creating a good flow and spaces where you can settle in<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

- At its most basic level, it\u2019s about creating a combination of a natural flow, relevant functions and spaces where people feel like settling down. Kronen today has many qualities, but it\u2019s rather self-contained, and there\u2019s no obvious footfall to the shops on the first floor, says Janina Zerbe, creative partner at the architectural firm KHR Architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- This will be changed by opening up the fa\u00e7ades and creating a versatile recreational outdoor space on the south-facing, raised terrace, where we are placing great emphasis on promoting green spaces and creating a meeting place in the city that has something to offer people of all ages and interests.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The new Metrotorv could be ready next year<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The current project proposal<\/a> This depends in part on a revised local plan, but construction is expected to begin in the autumn, so that the new terrace on Metrotorvet can be ready by spring 2023.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last April, NREP bought the bankrupt Kronen shopping centre from 2017 for 680 million. DKK.
\nPrior to the acquisition, KHR Architecture acted as both technical and architectural advisor to the property developer, helping to identify possible scenarios for a new version of the Kronen.
